Balsa Wood Core - Ecological Production

Balsa Wood Core is processed from raw Balsa Wood into the finished product at state of the art premises in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Balsa Sales works with suppliers to ensure ecological harvesting of balsa trees. Importantly, a sustainable re-planting programme is followed to preserve the future of this amazing natural resource.

Balsa Wood Core - Incredible Performance

Balsa Wood Core is a high performance core material that is suited to a wide range of applications. The micro honeycomb structures of Balsa Wood Core helps to provide incredible levels of compressive, tensile and sheer strength. The composition also provides the product with high thermal and sound insulation as well as high fatigue resistance.

End Grain Balsa Wood

Balsa Wood has been used as a core material for the glassfibre reinforced plastics industry for many decades.

End Grain Balsa Wood is derived from a natural resource, the balsa tree, which is found in South America. The tree reaches the end of its natural life after 6 years, and is then ready for harvest. The 25 metre tree is milled, kiln dried, density approved and then assembled into blocks for the transformation into Balsa Core. Balsa Core is natural environmentally friendly and the most ecological resource for a core material.

End Grain Balsa Core Range of Applications

End Grain Balsa Core is well proven in a variety of applications, and is used worldwide by major GRP manufacturers in Marine, Transport Industrial, Wind Turbine Blade, Military and Agricultural applications when high strength and low weight mouldings are required.
